Mickey Rogers Performs July 3rd, 2013 at 308 Blues Club

As a young guitarist in Upstate New York, I was made aware of Mickey Rogers by a former instructor. At that time, I had never heard him play a single note. But after reading his musical resume and viewing his associated acts, I knew right then Mickey Rogers was an incredible talent.

Mickey’s mentor and guitar teacher was Hubert Sumlin. He toured the UK in 1964 with Howlin’ Wolf and Hubert Sumlin where he met and was invited on stage to play with the Rolling Stones. He has also performed with many great acts including Jimi Hendrix, Otis Clay, The Temptations, and Bobby Rush. How many guitarist do you know personally that jammed with the Stones or Hendrix?

On July 3rd, the 308 Blues Club welcomes the Mississippi Delta’s Greatest Hidden Treasure… Mickey Rogers featuring the Soul Masters Band. Expected showtime 9 pm (immediately after the B.B. King Homecoming Festival).

More from Mickey Rogers at the 308…
