Teach For America and the Blues… Only in the Mississippi Delta

April 6th, 2013: The 308 Blues Club and Cafe and the Mississippi Delta Blues Society of Indianola announce the 4th Annual, Teach for America “Welcome To The Mississippi Delta” Event featuring live performance by The Jarekus Singleton Band.

Each and every school year, the Indianola Blues Society sponsors an area-wide, blues-themed event at the 308 Blues Club to salute all incoming and outgoing Teach For America Corp Members. It’s our way of saying, “Thank you for educating the children of the Mississippi Delta.”

And what we give in return is a taste of the blues…

This year, the 308 Blues Club welcomes 2013 IBC semi-finalist, The Jarekus Singleton Band of Jackson. Whether you’re TFA or not, I strongly suggest you find your way to the Mississippi Delta and lend an ear to this upcoming talent. The Jarekus Singleton Band covers it all… from straight up blues, urban soul, R&B, and rock! This show is open to the public. And as always, Teach For America Corp Members are admitted free. Doors open at 7:30 pm. Showtime 8 pm.

The 308 Blues Club and Cafe is located at 308 Depot Avenue in Indianola, Mississippi. For additional information, please visit us online at http://www.308bluesclubandcafe.com or call 662-887-7800.
