An opening reception will be held at the B.B. King Museum on Thursday, January 10, from 5:30 -7:30 p.m. to present the “Blame it on the Blues” art exhibit that will be displayed throughout the Barksdale Cotton Gin and the Museum lobby until February 3. The exhibit is a collaboration of several artists’ work, including paintings, sculptures and mixed-media pieces, with the Blues as an overall theme. Several artists featured in the exhibit will be attending the reception, including Howard Jones, Shelia Malone, Tommy Reaves, Joanne Adams, Rhonda Blasingame, Anne Campbell, Chad Mars, Stephanie Lacey, and Terrell Jones. Many of the pieces are also for sale and those interested in purchasing one can contact Tammy Golden, Special Events Manager of the Greater Jackson Arts Council, at 601-960-1557.
As you can see, the B.B. King Museum will kick off the new year on a very positive note. It is one of our goals to keep the arts a top priority in the Delta community and as part of our mission, we aim “to empower, unite and heal through music, art and education and share with the world the rich cultural heritage of the Mississippi Delta.”
See you soon at your Museum,
