FRIDAY, MARCH 23rd, 2012: The 308 Blues Club and Cafe welcomes Spring with a return to the Blues featuring the Kevin Waide Project of Tupelo. For almost a decade, the 308 Blues Club built its global audience through live blues music. Recognized as Indianola, Mississippi’s largest indoor stage, the 308 is a performance venue that caters to live music. This Friday, March 23rd, blues fans can enjoy quality live entertainment once again in Indianola. Whenever Kevin Waide visits the Mississippi Delta, he performs exclusively at the 308 Blues Club and Cafe.
Kevin Waide is a Guitarist and Singer-Songwriter with a passion for the Blues. A native and current resident of Tupelo, Mississippi, Kevin grew up hearing the music of blues men like Albert King, Muddy Waters, and John Lee Hooker. Starting on harmonica, Kevin began to mimic the sounds heard on the front porches in rural Mississippi. After moving to guitar, he quickly began learning from the albums of blues greats such as B.B. King, Buddy Guy, and Howlin’ Wolf. Playing semi-professionally since the age of 16, Kevin has acquired a few years of experience both on and off stage and truly knows what it means to “live the blues”. (Paraphrased from KevinWaide.com)
