APRIL 21st, 2010 — There is new political air in the city of Indianola… Recently, Mayor Steve Rosenthal and the City Board of Aldermen identified several department heads that did not meet the new performance standards. With the flux of crime, a new interim police chief was immediately identified; Former Vicksburg Police Chief Tommy Moffett.
“We did terminate our existing chief,” Mayor Rosenthal said in an early interview from the Vicksburg Post. “We felt like (Moffett) would be the perfect candidate. His resume looked good.”
Tommy Moffett had retired with 36 total years experience as an officer, 24 of them as a police chief. Moffett ran the Vicksburg Police Department for eight years until July 2009.
